Bio
Alexander Boynton Jr. is a Vancouver-based contemporary jazz and R&B artist blending grooves, melodies, and soul. Known for warm tone and strong feel, he leads flexible ensembles—from intimate trios to expanded festival lineups—that connect naturally with live audiences.
A seasoned performer, studio musician, and musical director, he has worked across jazz, R&B, pop, and film projects in Canada and the United States, including as a member of the Juno Award–winning group The Payola$. His performances balance sophistication and accessibility, refined and rooted in groove.
Boynton Jr. holds a Bachelor of Music degree, studied Composing for Film and TV at Berklee College of Music, and taught sound and multimedia courses at the University of British Columbia. His recordings include Life Time and Doo Bee Doo Bop, and his single “Laughter” is available on all streaming platforms.
